SATURDAY CRAVINGS// OUTFIT

There are two things in Bangalore that can burn a hole through any students pocket; the rickshaw fares and the food. In the 3 years that I have spent in in this city,I have found that I owe much of my broke-ness to rickshaw fares. I once had to pay 100 bucks just to get from Sony world signal to christ college at 3 in the afternoon.WHAT? Desperation. Thank god I got into gymming and exercising ,at least my food expenses have come down drastically .From eating out every other day ,I now eat out only on Saturdays a.k.a my cheat meal day in order to adapt a healthy lifestyle and as the weeks go by it's becoming easier and easier for me to skip this cheat meal Saturday too.

So, after hours of cribbing about how hungry we were and how lazy we were to actually go to a restaurant or walk till the ATM to withdraw money to pay the delivery guy, me and my roommate finally gathered all the energy and will-power we had and decided to move our asses  to Thulp cafe in Kormangla. This restaurant had been on my to-do list for quite sometime now. Everyone kept going on about how amazing and juicy their burgers were so I was more than excited to try it out.
It wasn't very difficult to find as its located in a pretty crowded street in Kormangal 1st block.

First impression? It looked dull, old and boring from the outside. The door color was dull and chipping and the windows were all dusty and browned ..probably because of the traffic and dust flying about. It was jam-packed and we had to wait for about 15 minutes, which is a very decent waiting time when compared to places like ice and spice and hole in the wall where you end up waiting for 30-45 minutes only to have the dude tell you its closing time. The staff was courteous and cleaned up and got the menus pretty quick. I directly skipped to the burger section of the menu excited to finally eat that juicy, succulent patty i'd been hearing so much about but to my disappointment they had only two options for the chicken burgers. WHAT? Everything else was beef or pork and considering I ate neither, I had only two options to choose from. With a heavy heart I decided to eat pasta instead and having the amazing luck that I do, that wasn't available either. So I was forced to order a chicken thigh patty with cheese and decided to order a boston cooler(coke float) and some chilly garlic fries. My roommate ordered the same burger along with something called agent orange.

The coke float arrived first followed by my chilly garlic fries. They were more garlic and hardly any chilli and they were kinda soggy, but they tasted amazing with mayo so I proceeded to smother mayo all over them and eat them one by one. The burgers took quite a while to arrive, maybe around 20 minutes but man, was it worth it.

It was like heaven in my mouth.I am not even kidding . If heaven was a dish, it would taste like this . The patty was thick, juicy and so full of flavor. The buns were just crispy enough to give that crunch with that juicy chicken patty. The added cheese only enhanced the taste of the patty. For the next 20 minutes my roommate and I proceeded to devour our burgers in absolute silence. It was the best 20 minutes of this week.

Since we went around 4-30 ish and it was a a little cool and warm , I decided on keeping it simple and sticking to basic colours. Added a bit of bling and floral and BOOM! I was all set to go:)

Verdict:
Ambiance: 3/5
Service:4/5
Food:4.5/5(4.5 because of the unavailability of pasta and limited chicken burger options)
Value for money:3.5/5(we payed 825 for two burgers,2 drinks and a helping of fries)

DEFINITELY WORTH THE HYPE!
